When Direct Radiology founders John Arias, MD, Lawrence Bub, MD and Kyle Henneberry, MD met while working with NightHawk Radiology, little did they know that together, they would enhance the teleradiology industry. By focusing on their passion for the profession, producing high-quality, clinically-useful work and providing accessible, responsive physician leadership, the trio has built a successful business model that meets the needs of today’s healthcare industry.
In January 2017, Direct Radiology will celebrate its fifth anniversary. Since founding the company, Drs. Arias, Bub and Henneberry have grown the team to over 40 radiologists and 40 support staff members that work in close partnership with over 200 hospitals, imaging centers, mobile imaging services and physician offices around the country.
Dr. John Arias
Born in Colombia, South America and raised in Alabama, Arias knew he would follow in his father’s footsteps and become a physician. He became fascinated with radiology during his residency.
“During every rotation, I realized that radiology touches all parts of medicine and immediately gravitated toward that focus. Surgery, oncology, pediatrics, internal medicine, all of these various departments rely on radiologists and the work that we do,” says Arias.
Arias has specialized in radiology and teleradiology for more than 17 years before founding Direct Radiology.

Dr. Lawrence Bub
Bub was born in South Africa and immigrated to the United States with his family in 1976 during a time of civil unrest. In 1981, they gained American citizenship, eventually setting roots in Denver. Before founding Direct Radiology, Bub spent six years in private practice and later served as Medical Director of NightHawk Radiology Services.
“Radiology is one of the most innovative and exciting areas of medicine. The technology revolution has influenced radiology more than any other specialty. Because our product is our report, we are continuously improving our IT systems to help our physicians generate higher quality, easier to read and ICD-10 compliant interpretations,” says Bub.

Dr. Kyle Henneberry
A native of Spokane, Wash., Henneberry got his start in biomedical engineering and became interested in radiology after working on MRI research while attending Northwestern University. He began his professional career in teleradiology with NightHawk Radiology.
“During my residency at the University of Colorado, I heard about a company in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, near where I grew up, that was doing well in teleradiology. I was excited about the opportunity to work in the field and be part of an innovative, evolving industry,” says Henneberry.
