Dr. Ted Brewer was born and raised outside of Boston, Massachusetts. He received his BA in History from the University of Virginia, then attended Boston University School of Medicine on a US Navy Health Professions Scholarship. Dr. Brewer completed his internship at Portsmouth Virginia Naval Medical Center. He undertook additional training in undersea medicine at the Naval Undersea Medical Institute in Groton, Connecticut and Naval Diving Salvage and Training Center in Panama City, Florida. He served as an Undersea Medical Officer in the United States Navy, specializing in the treatment of divers and submariners.
After serving in the Navy, Dr. Brewer completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, Massachusetts. He completed his neuroradiology fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Brewer practiced teleradiology for 5 years prior to joining Direct Radiology. He holds American Board of Radiology Certification with CAQ in Neuroradiology.
Dr. Brewer lives in Maine. When he is not working he enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, playing ice hockey, kayaking, and fishing.
