A native of South Carolina, Dr. Cavin received her B.S. degree from Clemson University, Clemson, S.C. and her MD from the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, S.C. She completed her residency in radiology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock, Arkansas, followed by a fellowship in Gastrointestinal Radiology with Wilma Canada Diner, MD as her mentor.
Before joining Direct Radiology, she served as Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Arkansas, Little Rock. She also worked extensively in private practices throughout Arkansas and Louisiana, and served the Department of Veterans Affairs as a radiologist in Alexandria, Louisiana. Dr. Cavin was the solo radiologist at one of Louisiana’s Charity Hospitals (Huey P. Long) during Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
Dr. Cavin is an experienced teleradiologist, working with Dayhawk Radiology Services and Nighthawk Radiology. She holds active medical licenses in 48 states. Dr. Cavin resides in Austin, Texas, and holds American Board of Radiology Certification.
