Dr. Oberfelder received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Winthrop University in her native state of South Carolina. She received her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC and completed her residency in radiology at the Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC. This was followed by a fellowship in Body Imaging at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD.
Before joining Direct Radiology, Dr. Oberfelder served as an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and an Associate Professor of Radiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston with special interest in Ultrasound imaging. She has published in multiple scientific journals and has lectured at numerous scientific meetings.
Following her academic career, Dr. Oberfelder worked in private practices in Texas, and North Carolina. She is experienced in the evaluation of the emergency room patient having worked extensively both as an on-site nighthawk and as a teleradiologist.
